beginnings.

As of late, the Murphy Art Center has been undergoing quite the transition period. In the beginning of September, Larry Jones and Craig Vondeylen have been managing the building. In this time period we artists have seen many hidden places being cleaned, light bulbs that have been out for who knows how long changed, and many new artists beginning to call Murphy their work space. There will still be an open house every first friday of the month, and we are glad to see more and more artists opening on this night.
In the midst of all of these changes, the commercial side of things is progressing as well. IndySwank, a vintage clothing and accessory store has opened. There are lots of lovely knick nacks to purchase, and a good place to stop by to get familiar with the building. We also have had The Identity Complex, a photography studio open on the first floor, and soon we will be welcoming the opening of an english style pub in the old Gusto location.
There is a cool, refreshing vibe of new beginnings that has moved its way into the Murphy Art Center. We are looking forward to all of the things to come, and we hope you are to. I couldn't be more excited myself.
